THE judging for this year's Comet Sports Awards takes place tomorrow (Friday).

The closing date for entries was on Monday and nominations have been flooding into The Comet offices.

Run in association with North Hertfordshire College, the awards are now in their fourth year and will again feature a dozen categories.

As well as main sponsors North Hertfordshire College, other sponsors are the Letchworth Garden City Heritage Foundation, AVC, MBDA, GlaxoSmithKline, Stevenage Borough Council, Stevenage Leisure Limited, ESP, the Stevenage School Sports Co-ordinator Partnership plus Marshall Trophies and Signs.

The sponsors are each providing a judge to select the 36 finalists (three in each of the 12 categories).

All the finalists will be highlighted in next week's edition of The Comet.

All ages, all standards and both sexes are sure to be honoured at this year's awards ceremony.

It is on Friday, January 26, 2007, at the Stevenage site of awards main sponsors North Hertfordshire College.
