Stevenage's second team overpowered their Hoddesdon counterparts in the Saracens Herts League Division Three.

They lost the toss on another damp and gloomy day and were asked to bat.

Russell Hann and Barret Ganji (23) put on 76 before Sohail Idress joined Hann and started with three fours followed by a six.

Hann was bowled for 76 with the score on 150 off 33 overs.

Saeed Ali joined Idress and the run rate continued at the same pace.

Idress completed another fifty before getting out to a diving catch and Ali was 34no when the declaration came at 214-5 off only 43.5 overs.

Hoddesdon reply's got off to a steady start before wickets started to tumble to Ian Brown and skipper Martin Nevill.

Nevill was rewarded with his first five-wicket haul for Stevenage (6-46 in 15 overs) and Brown also bowled all the way through for the second week running (4-41 off 18 overs).

Hoddesdon were bowled out for only 117 in 36 overs.

* The thirds had a nightmare time against Bushey 2nds.

After losing their way trying to find the ground, the batting was not much better.

They were 62 all out in 27 overs with only Scott Davies (19) and Rhys Stewart (15) reaching double figures.

Bushey were in all sorts of trouble at 30-5, Paul Berry three wickets and Stewart two, but recovered to win without losing any further wickets.

* The fourths were beaten by Waltham Cross Rosedale 3rds.

Jack Mitchell took 5-23 from six overs as Rosedale declared on 214-6 from 46 overs.

Stevenage crashed to 153 all out with only Craig Whitworth (28), Mitchell (27) and Sudesh (25) able to really trouble the scorers.
