The young gymnasts from Marriotts Gym Club came away with silver medals at the end of a tough afternoon of competition.

But it was a close run thing as the club hosted Sunday's Herts county level six team competition. The club had two teams taking part.

In the team championship, the gymnasts compete on all four pieces - floor, vault, bars and beam - with the top three scores on each piece counting towards the final team score.

Level six is the first level of county four-piece competition and these young gymnasts are in their first year of four-piece apparatus competition.

The Marriotts first team of Georgia Moretti, Hannah Rayfield, Lucy Moxham and Laura Burns fought hard in a close competition and just missed out on gold with an overall score of 75.55.

The Dolphina (Watford) team took gold with a score of 75.625, just 0.075 of a mark ahead.

The club's second team of Talia Francis, Georgia Hayes and Bethany Suppa were sixth overall.

Club coaches Svetlana Lebiadzinskaya and Lee Crook were pleased with the performances of the youngsters.
