Baldock had a chance to go second but went down 3-0 at Bedwell Rangers. A brace from John Johnston and a Ryan Murphy goal clinched the points for the Stevenage side.

The mid-table clash saw Whitwell Village win 4-2 at Stevenage Council Club.

A couple from Roger Clarke and further goals from Simon Chipperfield and Nathan Grinsted clinched the points for the village side. The council club goals came from Richard Hall and a fine individual one by David Pomfret.

The clash at the bottom saw county cup quarter-finalists Kimpton Rovers win their second league game, 2-0 at home to Codicote A. Leading scorer Craig Barnes did the damage by scoring twice.

All three games in Division One ended in draws and two ended with no goals being scored - a rarity in local football.

The top clash between second place Magnum and Wilbury Wanderers was one of the goalless games. With both defences on top, there were few chances at either end although Magnum did hit the post.

Baldock Res had a chance to go further in front but their game against AFC Santos was another game without any goals. After a poor start, AFC Santos are hitting form and deserved their share of the points against the Division One leaders.

The clash at the bottom ended in another draw but at least there was four goals.

Cricketers Weston, playing with 10 men and a goal down at half-time, fought back to share the spoils.

Their goals came from Peter Leete and new signing Ross Woodbridge, who has just transferred from Baldock. Both goals were shots from around 25 yards.

City Hearts replied through Gareth Brown and Roy Cramphorn.

The final game saw Bedwell Rangers Res concede the points to Fairlands as they were unable to raise a side.
