Saghana Thayaparan, who has recently been selected for the England Badminton U15 squad, has added another medal to her collection.
The talented 13 year old from Letchworth entered the Badminton England U17 Suffolk gold tournament claiming a bronze medal in the singles event.
Playing four years above her age group, she beat three players to reach the quarter finals where she played against Rachel Wang.
In the semi finals she played against a 16-year-old from Essex and narrowly missed the silver by two points in the third set.
Thayaparan said: "I really can’t believe that I won a bronze medal in a tournament, I am so delighted."
Elated mother Theepa added “I am so proud of my daughter. She works so hard and is very dedicated to badminton that she trains everyday from 4:30pm for four hours."
