THE snooker legend dubbed the Whirlwind and the People's Champion was at Rileys in Stevenage last Thursday night.

Jimmy White was there to play snooker and nine-ball pool and sign merchandise for club members and guests.

There was a special thrill for Rileys club member Ainsley Bilton who managed to beat the ace after being given a points advantage.

Comet competition winners Pamela Austen and Colin Gray also got to meet their hero and received a signed cue from Jimmy.

n The Rileys club is hosting a snooker pro-am tournament this Saturday.

The entry fee is £25 and there is likely to be a prize fund of around £1,000 depending on the number of entries.
