Potton United beat local rivals Biggleswade United 4-2 on Tuesday night to book their place in the North Beds Charity Cup final.

The Royals handed their fringe players a chance to shine and the understudies proved their worth to book a final spot against Wootton.

Anthony Schurek gave the Royals a fifth minute advantage and Vince Petty doubled the lead a minute before the interval.

Biggleswade United fought back after the break with Robbie O'Dell converting a 50th minute penalty and Dean Bull equalising a minute before the hour. James Hearson restored Potton's lead after 63 minutes and Petty settled the tie in the last minute.

Both teams lost 1-0 at the weekend with Biggleswade United going down at home to Langford (see Sport 6) and Potton beaten at title rivals Woodford. The home side won the contest thanks to Nicky Gordon's shot on the turn after 56 minutes.

Biggleswade Town went down 3-1 at home to Hillingdon Borough despite Craig Reynolds giving them an early lead. Dave Lawrence scored three times in as many minutes.
