HITCHIN Town has two attractive home games in the next week at Top Field, playing host to Crystal Palace and a Stevenage Borough XI.
The Canaries have been shaping up well in pre-season and last Saturday's draw with Conference new boys St Albans was their best showing so far.
"We have progressed in each game," said Hitchin manager Darren Salton. "And I am pleased with our level of fitness."
Palace comes to Hitchin on Saturday for the second successive season. Last year, the two teams drew 2-2.
On Wednesday, August 2, kick off 7.45pm, Hitchin play host to a Stevenage X1.
Hitchin lost at home to Arlesey 2-1 on Tuesday night. Arlesey's two goals came from Michael McKenzie in the first half.
Arlesey Athletic want a new coach for this season. The South Midlands League side are looking for a level two/three coach to work under manager Darren Staniforth.
