Sunday saw a special run for Stevenage Striders Paul Marshall and Viv Honey when they stepped out to complete the Walt Disney World Marathon in Florida.

Both had a great time and finished in five hours 34 minutes.

James Marshall completed the Panshanger 5K with his son Tyler on Saturday in 26:47.

Tyler’s granddad Ken completed the course in 28:08. Anna Bennett ran her first parkrun in 38:14.

Chris Leigh started his 2016 challenge of running 12 marathons in 12 months with the Winter Tanners 30 mile trail race.

This is an off-road run starting in Leatherhead.

Entrants had to navigate themselves around a 30.4 mile route using a set of directions but there were badly flooded bridleways and muddy fields.

Chris was pleased to finish in 6hrs 27mins, a personal best time for an ultra marathon. It marked his 35th marathon.

John Wilden and Liz Small took part in the Fowlmead Marathon.

Each lap was 4.37 miles and runners had up to six hours to cover as much distance as possible. Both completed the marathon distance of 26.2 miles in that time.

Chris Johansen ran the Brixton 10K on Sunday. Chris finished in 1:16:55.

Following their award winning Zero to 5K programme last year, the Striders are starting another on February 1. If you would like details please contact Chris Leigh on 07954 552024.
