Biggleswade AC encountered the third of this season's Three Counties cross-country races at the difficult Ampthill course on Sunday.

The ladies' team performed outstandingly well, coming fourth overall, the highest position Biggleswade's ladies have ever been in the Three Counties competitions.

The first lady home was Karen Worrall, who came in fifth in the women's competition, shortly followed by Zoe Dawson in 11th, her highest ever position.

Ever improving Natalie Darlow came in 34th, followed by Jan Forrester to continue her excellent form.

The men's team also supported some great performances with Lee Walham coming in as 31st man, three places in front of Gavin Elliott.

Damien Pitts also produced a great run in 55th, followed by Ken Prior 80th and Nigel Bush 137th.

Full men's results: Lee Walham 31st, Gavin Elliott 34th, Damien Pitts 55th, Ken Prior 80th, Nigel Bush 137th, Tim Huxtable 161st, Arthur Mitchell 191st.

Full women's results: Karen Worrall fifth, Zoe Dawson 11th, Natalie Darlow 34th, Jan Forrester 44th, Debbie Bryant 52nd, Tanya Tatchley 70th.
