MORE than 80 youngsters attended the MBA basketball Christmas reunion day over the festive break.

Players from Comet country and other areas aged between 12 and 20 enjoyed themselves, along with MBA coaches Garnett Jones and Ashley Goldson.

The players, many of whom are now playing basketball in colleges around the UK in the British Basketball League as well as America, got together to talk about their experiences and their future plans.

Tina Powell, from the MBA Association, said: "The younger players were full of admiration for the more experienced players and it gave them a chance to hear what it is really like to play at such high levels.

"The MBA would like to thank all the players that took part, plus James Warwick, back from America, for his demonstration and coaching, and Stevenage Leisure Ltd for the use of the hall."

The MBA will be promoting basketball in the area throughout 2006 to produce even more young players for the future.

For more information, call Ashley Goldson on 07812 987676.
