Hitchin Nomads Cycling Club hosted their annual 25-mile time trial around Guilden Morden on Saturday.

Early thunderstorms cleared to warm but blustery conditions for the record entry of over 90 riders.

In keeping with time trial etiquette the first rider off is from the promoting club, this duty filled by Nigel Wilson who registered one hour 13 minutes 40 seconds.

Nomad representation in the event was completed by Chris Corney who finished with 1:13:40.

Simon Norman from the Beds Roads Racing Team won the event with a blistering 52:09, finishing nearly a minute clear of Ben Stowe of Hemel Hempstead CC.

Luke Clarke of TMG Horizon was third, recording 53:30.

Fastest woman was Christine Bertram of Phoenix Velo who finished in 1:02:17. Justine and Ian Hobbs (Team Trident) braved the windy conditions on their tandem to record 1:24:03.
