Three club records for the North Herts Road Runners were broken at the hugely popular Hatfield Broad Oak 10k on Bank Holiday Monday.
The Squirrels fielded 30 runners over a rural figure of eight course round the pretty village near Bishop's Stortford.
Pete Sibbett was the first man home for the club in 36:03 with Melissa Winters the club's leading lady in 39:17.
Records tumbled as Jane Chappell lowered her own female Vet 35 best by almost a minute to finish in 40:56.
Two of the club's elder statesmen also produced record-breaking times.
Derek Myall reduced the male Vet 60 time by more than a minute when he finished in 40:40. Don Powell recorded the best ever time for a Vet 70 when he crossed the line in 48:14.
Among the other finishers, there were personal bests for John Russell (37:45), Martyn Annetts (38:30), James Brooke (40:04), Jo Summers (45:02), Karen Gardner (51:23), Allison Cook (51:42) and Anna Ciurleo (54:20).
Pete Sibbett and Martyn Annetts were also in action at the Serpentine Last Friday of the Month 5k at Hyde Park.
In breezy conditions, Sibbett finished in 17:44 with Annetts in 19:00 and they were joined by Lindsay Cook who completed the course in 26:54.
Steve Taplin finished the South London Orienteers and Wayfarers 30k in 2-54.
P Top FVS TRI veteran athlete Brian White showed a welcome return to form with a Vet 50 age group win at the Hatfield Broad Oak 10k in a time of 35:39.
Jan Forrester also won Vet 50 gold in the White Rose Duathlon in York over a 10k run/40k bike/5K run format in a time of 2-44:26.
Dave Coard and Pete Timmins both raced the Grendon Sprint Tri over a 750m lake swim, 20k bike and a 5k run. The pair finished within seconds of each other in 1-21:35 and 1-21:47 respectively.
P It has been another special week in the life of Clifton schoolboy Ryan Parker.
Representing his school, Samuel Whitbread Community College, he won the 3000m event with a time of 9:01 at the district track and field championships last Thursday.
Then, in the evening, his club Bedford and County AC held their annual winter cross-country season awards night.
Ryan received the under-15 award for most points scored which he was not expecting as he was ill for a month during the season.
He was then presented with the Whitbread Inns Trophy for outstanding performance.
This award is for junior runners and Paula Radcliffe was a previous winner in three successive years (1989-1991).
Ryan won it for his outstanding performance in the Aldershot relays where he ran the final leg and made up a huge deficit to secure gold for the team.
He set the fastest lap of the day and posted a new course record (8:55 over 3000m), eight seconds faster than the previous record.
