Knights Templar School from Baldock have qualified for national five-a-side finals.
They are in the UK final of the PlayStation Schools' Cup at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre next Wednesday (April 5).
This is despite losing 2-0 to Great Barr School from Birmingham in the Midlands final at the University of Warwick on Monday.
Thirty school teams took part in the tournament based in Coventry.
Runners-up Knights Templar won seven games, lost one and drew one to qualify through the group stages.
They beat Sponne School from Towcester 2-0 in the quarter-finals and Wolstanton School from Newcastle in the semis before losing in the final.
The winner of the UK final will represent Great Britain in the European PlayStation Schools' Cup at the awe-inspiring sporting facilities within Disney Land Paris.
