Four of Comet country's muay Thai fighters were in action recently in Kettering.

The quartet were fighting out of the East Area gym which covers Beds and Herts.

First up on the night was Andy Mackillican (shown above) who was fighting for the WKA Midlands Area title.

Andy dominated the entire fight with some impressive techniques, scoring highly with his knees in the grapple, to win on a unanimous points decision.

Next up was Anthony Ferguson (shown above) who is ranked number six in the UK and is also the WMTO Midland and ISKA English champion. He made short work of his opponent with a roundhouse kick to the ribs in the second round, giving him the victory by knockout.

John Hassell was fighting an experienced opponent in a step-up in class for him. This fight went the distance with John losing on a close and controversial points decision.

Mark Baxter was fighting for the WKA English title against a top 10 ranked opponent, also a step-up in class for him.

After a bout which went the distance, he lost the fight on points but proved he is up there with the best fighters in the country.

Anthony and Mark will be in action again a week on Saturday (June 28) in Greenwich.
