Marriotts gymnast Mollie Smith has successfully maintained her competitive status by her performance in the British Championships.
Competing in the junior championships, Mollie achieved an overall score of 44.95 to ensure that she is able to move up to the full senior British Championships next year.
The competition was held at Guildford with a large, enthusiastic crowd and attracted the top gymnasts in the country.
This was Mollie's second year in the junior competition and she needed to score over 44.0 to continue to work at this level in 2009.
She had good floor and vault performances, and a clean bar routine except for a stumble on landing which resulted in a fall.
On beam Mollie has a lot of difficult elements, but unfortunately two falls reduced her score.
She still achieved the pass level and finished overall in 21st position in the championship.
