DWANE Lee was the only player brought in by Boro before the transfer deadline.
Midfielder Lee, who made his debut in Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Tamworth, signed from Kidderminster Harriers.
Boro boss Mark Stimson is certain that Lee will give the midfield the combative edge that it has lacked on occasions this season.
"He gives us more of a physical presence in midfield although he is not fully fit at the present," said Stimson.
Stimson missed out on two other targets that he had hoped to land to strengthen the squad.
"We were very close to getting another defender in but in the end that didn't happen," he said.

"There was also another midfielder who was set to join us, but in the end he went somewhere else because they could offer more money than us."
Four players left Broadhall Way in loan deals. Ieuan Lewis has gone on a season-long loan to Leighton Town, Dannie Bulman is at Crawley Town for a three-month period while Sam Hatton and Hector Mackie are on 28-day loans deals respectively with Yeading Town and Cambridge City.
Jon Nurse had already gone to Woking on a month's loan.
Stimson added: "Lewis has gone for the whole season to get himself some football, but it is one of those loan deals where we can call him back anytime after 28 days if we need him.
"If they are not getting football at the moment then we have to try and get them some matches because reserve team football is not competitive. We have a few games coming up and I can't see them figuring in those so it is best to get them away and keep their fitness levels up.
