It was a successful day for Richard's Trampoline Club at the Eastern regional grading competition in Ipswich.

Being a graded competition, if the qualification score was achieved, then the trampolinist can progress to the next grade.

Michael Sheff was on top form at grade four and easily qualified for the next grade. Despite a small amount of travel in both routines, he maintained excellent form and finished in second place.

Paige Maranian - who joined the club during the summer, also had an excellent day in her first grading competition. She struggled during her set routine but put in a superb voluntary routine to gain the qualifying marks for grade three and finish in third place.

Also, at grade four, Jack Bastin narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing in fourth place.

Jo Collins finished in fifth place and came close to qualifying for grade three in her first attempt at a grading competition.

Katherine Crone finished in sixth place, with a good performance for her first competition at grade four.

Rebecca Hales completed two good routines, scoring her highest total yet at grade four. Only the high standard kept her out of the medals in seventh place.

Lewis Staples struggled during his routines in his first time competing since joining the club; he should be pleased with his seventh place though.

Sophie Perks finished 10th - an error in her voluntary routine cost her a possible medal position.

Both their grade three performers finished in second place.

Lauren Doherty showed great improvement since her last grading competition to qualify for grade two.

Lizzie Mercer also showed good improvement despite a small error on her set routine.
