A Stevenage schoolgirl took silver in her first national diving championships.
Maddie Maranian (shown right), who attends Heathcote School, is 12-years-old and only started diving six months ago.
She belongs to the Beaumont Diving Academy at Hatfield.
Maddie had qualified for the national championships by taking double gold in the regionals at Crystal Palace.
The competition in Southampton ran from Thursday to Sunday.
Maddie competed on Friday in the 1m springboard and was second overall to take the silver medal in her first national event.

She had a difficult dive for her last one which could have gone either way but she managed to pull off a good effort.
Maddie was also ninth in the 3m springboard after a lapse in concentration on her fourth dive which scored low marks.
