A brace of goals from Justine Lucas gave Letchworth Ladies a deserved East Premier League win over Bromley and Beckenham.

In their final home game this season, Letchworth got off to a flying start when after just two minutes a quick free hit by Helene Wehrmann led to a penalty corner from which Lucas converted.

Although Bromley fought back strongly and had the better of the attacking possession in the half, the Letchworth defence rarely looked troubled and justifiably took their lead into the break.

The second half belonged to Letchworth with Rachel Williams, Charlie Gibson and Nicola Cooper all constantly probing the Bromley defence.

But it was player of the match Lucas, whose unselfish running and lay-off play contributed so much to the Letchworth attack, who sealed the game, picking up a loose ball to net the second midway through the half.

Bromley rarely threatened after that but, although Letchworth always looked likely to increase their lead, were able to hold the score to 2-0.

Other scores: Vauxhall Chiltern 7 Letchworth Ladies II 2 (Jenny Stroomer two), Letchworth Ladies III 1 (Hannah White) Bishop's Stortford 2, Leighton Buzzard IV 2 Letchworth Ladies IV 2 (Ali Adams two).

Stevenage Ladies had a gloomy scoreline as they failed to break the Hertford defence in a 2-0 defeat.

It was a scrappy affair from the outset with both sides playing loose balls and failing to find any real momentum. And it was Hertford who capitalised, taking the lead from a touch on the end of a cross.

Stevenage came out a much livelier side in the second half and played some good hockey, putting more pressure on the Hertford defence.

They never really looked like scoring and were put on the back foot when Hertford broke and stole their second.

Stevenage could not find their scoring touch but still sit in a comfortable mid-table position.

A comprehensive win over Tring saw the promoted second XI side score six times. Goals came from Debbi Church and Maria Pellizzaro (two each), Tash Howe and Harriet Richards.

The thirds shared six goals with Saffron Walden seconds as their opponents scored a late equaliser.

Top scorer and vice-captain Nicki Reynolds was on good form as she found the back of the goal twice. Defender Amanda Lawrence also got her name on the scoreboard.

The fourth XI put 12 goals past third placed Queenswood in a stunning victory. Goalscorers were Annabel Reilly (five), Liz Phoenix (two), Gill Hamid (two), Catherine Kendall, Louise Brazier and Leona Robinson.

The fifths went down 2-0 to West Herts.

Blueharts Ladies secured their biggest win of the season as they thrashed Royston 8-1.

Within the first 10 minutes, Harts opened the scoring with forward Tamzin Alderson's well-taken close range shot in front of goal.

Harts piled the pressure on Royston's defence with Jay Livermore scoring twice from open play and Alderson notching up a hat-trick before half-time.

They were quick to increase the score with a great strike from centre-forward Kerry Ross.

Royston pulled a goal back on the break but this served as a wake-up call for Harts.

Player of the match Alderson got her fourth goal and Jay Livermore completed a well-deserved hat-trick.

The second team beat Saffron Walden 3-0 to guarantee top spot and promotion to Division Five for next season.

Harts scored an early goal through Gina Joseph.

Helen Sadler worked hard down the right wing and was unlucky to have her reverse stick goal disallowed.

After the break, Saffron Walden came close to equalising when they hit the post and had a few short corners dealt with confidently.

In a breakaway attack, Harts drove forward with speed and style and the ball fell to Emily Guyton at the top of the D who powered in a super strike for 2-0 to the Blues.

Player of the match Susie Powell stole the show and amazed her team with her strength, determination, stamina and hunger for victory.

Powell's awesome strike into the D allowed Joseph to nudge into the net through the keeper's feet for a third.
