The Lister Tennis Club in Stevenage is opening its doors this weekend.

An open day is on Saturday from 9am-5pm at the club in North Road and during the day, visitors will be able to sample the club's facilities and take part in a number of coach-led sessions.

The club is also offering a number of special offers available to new members joining on the open day.

They include a junior member offer - free membership plus one free taster session - and an adult member offer - £25 voucher for use on squads and lessons.

The club has a full range of facilities including two indoor lit courts, three outdoor courts, a recently refurbished clubhouse with a café and shower facilities.

Qualified LTA coaching staff provide coaching for all ages and standards. Individual or group lessons can be arranged.

The club offers a full programme of squad lessons for both children and adults.

Lister Tennis Club has been very successful over the last year.

They have won a number of local leagues including the Division One of the Datchworth League, a competitive but friendly tennis league with 109 teams from 27 Herts clubs, and the Herts men's doubles Division Five.

The club is a junior priority club, with more than half of its membership under 18 years old.

Courts are reserved exclusively for juniors between 4-8pm during term-time weekdays and have full access at other times.

Wimbledon fortnight (June 23-July 6) is being marked at Lister Tennis Club by offering £1 per person on all the outdoor courts.
