Knebworth went down with barely a whimper at London Lions in the Herts Senior County League.
The Lions were quick off the mark, taking a fifth minute lead before Knebworth had settled on the smooth Rowley Lane surface.
A high ball was flicked over central defender Richie Lannon and forward Nick Goodman coolly swept the ball past goalkeeper Craig Errington.
Things went from bad to worse for the K's when Louie Evans was forced to withdraw with a hamstring injury 25 minutes into the game.
The club's all-time leading goalscorer Frazer Triggs was on the bench, having been out of favour since the arrival of Evans and Adam Lamacraft, and got his chance.
The visitors made a bright start to the second half and were level in the third minute.

Triggs and Lamacraft forced full-back Ben Graham into a slip to steal possession.
Lamacraft whipped his cross to the back post for the arriving Graham Dove, only for right-back Lee Cash to chest the ball past his own keeper.
Left-back Graham raced in on Errington in the 71st minute and nudged his shot wide before being clattered by the goalkeeper, with a generous penalty being awarded.
Justice was delivered when Errington made an exceptional full-length save to his left from Ben Grossman's kick.
Knebworth drifted out of the game and found themselves behind again in the 81st minute as Cash poked the ball past Errington from late substitute Danny Philips' pass.
