Letchworth Ladies were desperately unlucky not to take at least a share of the points in a tough home fixture against Bromley and Beckenham.

Letchworth dominated the early play with a series of incisive attacks and deservedly took the lead through Sarah Parkhouse after just 12 minutes.

Parkhouse, the driving force behind many of the Letchworth attacks, threaded the ball into the penalty circle then picked up the return pass to score her third goal in two matches.

The home side then continued to have the better of the first half but despite creating further chances were unable to extend their lead.

Bromley and Beckenham struck back almost immediately after the break when the ball was given away on the left and the resulting cross was swept in giving keeper Tracy Gateson no chance.

It looked as if Letchworth would regain the lead when they were awarded a penalty flick, just 10 minutes later, but Cindy Dixon's shot was saved by the visitor's keeper, who had an excellent game.

Although Letchworth continued to drive forward and create chances, they inevitably fell victim to a superb breakaway goal midway through the half to give the visitors victory.

Letchworth now slip to fourth in the East Division 1 but remain within two points of the leaders. Letchworth face tough opposition again next week, away to Crostyx.
