A collection of past Letchworth captains gathered for a sumptuous dinner before their match with North Walsham in London One North.
But although the Letchworth kitchens might have been awarded five stars by the local environment officer the morning of the game their performance on the pitch was more of a one-star display as the visitors recorded their first win at Legends Lane in 10 years.
Despite the Letchworth forwards winning an adequate amount of ball for the home side their static approach was not mirrored by the visitors who ran speedily from deep and caused numerous problems for Letchworth.
Walsham racked up 36 points before Letchworth got on the board thanks to a Kyle Hughes try.
Letchworth added a second but Walsham went on to add 14 more points for a 50-10 victory. Letchworth travel to Sudbury this coming weekend.
