FVS TRI hosted their annual end-of-season social and prizegiving at Arlesey Town Football Club.

And the future looks bright as FVS TRI are launching a junior club in 2007 in conjunction with Hitchin Boys' School.

Club chairman Keith Perry said: "We are delighted with the offer to base ourselves at Hitchin Boys' School and look forward to working with sports-mad deputy head Paul Booton to establish a junior triathlon club to be proud of at the school."

Their award winners were:

* Top triathlete - Stephen Harrison (national age group championships overall winner and winner of many events).

* Most improved female - Paula Adams (excellent improvement over Olympic distance and sub three-hour London Marathon).

* Most improved male - Rob Wilson (excellent improvement over Olympic distance and ironman debut).

* Junior triathlete - Sean Bradley (winner of MK winter and summer duathlon series).

* Chairman's award - Brian White (for his outstanding contribution to the club in organising run coaching, run teams and also his continued efforts in running and duathlon).

Also recognised for their outstanding success with international representation at age group level were Penny Wylie, Jackie Perry, James Brooks, Gavin May and Kevin Smart.

The evening attracted 120 members and guests and there was a prize draw with more than £600 of prizes donated largely by local triathlon specialist retailer TriSports Letchworth and other club members.

Their winter training programme is now in full force and if you are interested in joining FVS TRI or would like to register for more information on the junior club, please contact Keith Perry on keith@fvstri.org.uk

Most improved male triathlete 2005 Simon Patenall was unable to attend the evening as he was competing in the challenging Lanzarote Marathon which he completed in 3-50:17.

Four FVS TRI members raced the Stevenage 5k with Brian White winning the overall first vet award and the others earning personal bests. Times: Brian White 17:06, Rob Wilson 19:01 pb, Richard Easterbrook 20:44 pb, Ian Hobbs 22:34 pb.
