The youngsters at Chesfield Downs at Graveley have just joined the North Herts Junior Golf League.

They played their first match recently against Redbourn Golf Club.

The league consists of 10 other clubs around the North Herts area.

Five matches are played at home and five matches at the away venue.

Each match consists of eight players, playing fourball, betterball matches with four points to be won for each game. One point is awarded for winning the front nine holes, one for the back nine, and two points for winning the game.

Chesfield lost 11 points to five in their opening fixture but the match was played away from home.

Their next match is a home one against Mill Green on Sunday, April 29.

The junior section at Chesfield Downs is looking for companies who would like to sponsor junior development at the club.

The launch of the new 'Lannock Links Lions' section is taking place on Sunday, April 22.

This is a par three club for children aged from five to 13.

Competitions are held once a month throughout the season ending with the Lannock Link Lions Championship in October.
