* Due to the success of the junior 'Young Gun' coaching scheme, a new 'Lannock's Links Lions' junior par three club is being launched in April.

This will encourage juniors to experience competitive golf from a younger age. The club will be open to all juniors aged under 14, without an official handicap and registration to the club is FREE.

There will be monthly competitions in two age categories - under-nines and under-14s (ages as at January 1). All winners will receive medals.

A unique stableford points system and handicap system will allow all children to compete on a level playing field.

For a registration form or more details, those interested can either go to www.lannocklinkslions.mfbiz.com or call Keith on 01462 482929.

* Chesfield Downs are now catering for children's golf parties as well.

Parties can include a bash on the range and a meal afterwards, with tuition from their golf professionals as an optional extra.

For older children, you can try the Par three party, with nine holes on the Lannock Links short course followed by party food and a medal for the winner.
