There was a home winner as Letchworth Golf Club hosted the Herts Seniors Championship in far from ideal weather conditions last Monday.
Martin McKenna from the host club was the winner, beating 62 of the county's best senior golfers.
Martin shot a creditable 77 in the morning and followed that up with a gutsy 73 in the afternoon round.
Runner-up was Tom McEvoy from Hatfield London Golf Club.
In a separate category for the under-60s, another Letchworth member, local GP Dr Michael Slattery, won first prize with a total of 155 over the two rounds.
The field was made up with players from around the county with all but one player having a handicap of nine or below. The qualifying age was 55 years.
