Hitchin Town moved up to ninth in the Southern Premier League table following their 1-0 derby win over Biggleswade Town.

Nat Peacock, playing against his former club, had already gone close twice before he scored the only goal of the game 10 minutes into the second half as the Canaries kept a third successive clean sheet to move above Chesham United in the table.

Peacock had earlier headed one chance wide of the target before seeing another effort cleared off the line.

He made no mistake with his third opportunity, having been put through on goal by Jonny McNamara.

Town are nine points off the last remaining play-off place, and they host Histon on Monday evening at Top Field.

Hitchin: Horlock, Rolfe, Smith, Ann, Webb (Corran), Kirkpatrick, McNamara, C Donnelly, Peacock, Rees, Williams (Martin). Subs: Johnson, Noone, Barker.
