Five local players featured as Herts under-23s made a successful debut against county opposition.
Gareth Lewis from Stevenage Town was joined by the Letchworth pair of Ollie Wakefield and Phil Pearson, with clubmates Steve Mahoney and Callum Bryce as replacements, as Herts beat their Middlesex counterparts 39-24 at Old Albanian last Wednesday.
Lewis (right) scored an interception try before Pearson crossed over under the posts as Herts led 22-12 at the break.
Pearson scored his second try from broken play late on to secure the win for Herts.
