Hayley Kruse won two golds at the Herts county track and field athletics championships on Sunday at Watford.

The 17-year-old (shown left), who lives in Stotfold, attends Knights Templar School in Baldock and is a member of Herts Phoenix AC.

Hayley has just moved up to the under-20 women's age group and normally competes as a heptathlete.

But she won two individual golds in Sunday's county championships.

Hayley produced two personal bests in each event to win the high jump (1.53m) and the 100m hurdles (16.29). This was only the second time she has competed at this distance.

Clifton schoolboy Ryan Parker won gold in the 3000m race at the Bedfordshire county championships at Stockwood Park, Luton, on Sunday.

Samantha Cutler (pictured right) was another winner in the Beds championships.

The 14-year-old set a new personal best in winning the under-15 girls' 1500m title.

Samantha lives in Stotfold and attends Samuel Whitbread Community College in Clifton.

She has run for Bedford and County AC for the last three years. Samantha currently runs middle distance and cross-country in the under-15 girls' age group and is under the guidance of Alex and Rosemary Stanton who also coach Paula Radcliffe and Liz Yelling.
