THREE female members of Stevenage and North Herts AC took part in the National age-group championships at Bedford over the weekend.
Louise Shortland, under-20 pole vault, had to contend with an hour's disruption due to a freak thunderstorm and just missed out on a bronze medal clearing 3.35m.
Hayley Beard continued her return to fitness after a long spell of injury, clocking a personal best of 4:22.80 in the under-23 1500m race to finish fourth, 31 hundreths of a second behind the bronze medallist!
Emma Kemp clocked 56.15 in her 400m heat but didn't progress to the final.
Stevenage and North Herts AC are staging a three day STAR TRACK, 'Fun in Athletics' programme at Ridlins Stadium, Stevenage on August 14, 15 and 16 from 10am until 2pm.
The programme is for girls and boys aged 9-12 and costs £20.00 per child for the three day event. More than one child per family costs £30.00 per family.
