Both sides created early chances but it was Dereham who took the lead when a defensive error gifted them a goal and the visitors kept this lead until half time.

The second half saw a different Blueharts take the field.

The boys in blue began to dominate in more areas of the pitch and were soon rewarded when Gillan Ide scored from a well-worked short corner routine.

Harts applied more pressure and seemed to be moving the ball with ease.

They were then awarded a penalty stroke when a Dereham defender stopped the ball on the line with his foot which John Barrett expertly converted.

Now ahead, the confidence grew and some good passages of play resulted in a number of shot corners and goalscoring chances.

Captain Oliver Hammond sealed the win when he smashed the ball into the corner from another well-worked short corner routine.

Dereham did put up a fight towards the end but a superb performance by goalie Will Pugh meant the visitors went home empty handed.

Stevenage produced a barnstorming display after the break to brush aside an in-form Southend at home.

Things started off badly when the Southend forward ran through unchallenged to slot home after only a minute.

Southend could have doubled their lead but for a fine save from keeper Tim Dingley.

Stevenage finally woke up and Danny Blackburn found Mike Oliver in acres of room to fire in the equaliser.

MBDA picked up more league points at fourth place Cheshunt 2nds.

It took only five minutes for MBDA to take a grip of the game.

Captain Adrian Monks was scythed down just outside the penalty area and Austin Mahoney soon slotted away the first of MBDA's goal rout with a strong strike.

Cheshunt allowed MBDA to attack from the restart with Paul Lawman scoring with a low drive.

MBDA went for the jugular as Chris Hose beat the central defender and lifted expertly over the sprawling keeper before Lawman got his hat-trick with an outstanding strike into the top corner and then another low drive into the bottom corner.

MBDA led 5-1 half time and this was how it stayed despite Cheshunt being reduced to 10 men.
