Blueharts shared the league points before making progress in the HA Cup.

Harts could only manage to take a point from a Premier A encounter at Bury St Edmunds despite being the better team.

They made a number of clear-cut chances during the game but failed to score from any of them.

It was only from a penalty corner that Harts found the net, Colin Burnell flicking the ball hard into the corner.

For the second week running, the lead was given away cheaply when Bury scored 10 minutes from time.

Harts went through at Cambridge University in the second round of the HA Cup.

The game was nearly abandoned but the skies cleared and the men from Hitchin took to the field.

Harts found themselves on the back foot for the first 10 minutes before gradually getting into the game.

Captain Oliver Hammond struck the first blow, powering the ball over the line from close range. Minutes later, Harts went 2-0 up as John Sapsed beat three players before crossing the ball for Adam Wells to run in and score with a first-time shot.

Cambridge scored from a well-worked short corner after the break.

Harts were awarded a penalty corner 10 minutes from time and again skipper Hammond converted from a well-rehearsed short corner.

The Harts defence remained strong, Danny Fair and Matt Gardner giving great performances.

But it was debutant and man of the match Matt Hicks who stole the show at centre-back.

The seconds went down 4-3 to Southend 1sts. After falling behind, Tim Price expertly crossed for Phil Britton to finish from close range.

Unforced errors contributed to three second-half goals for Southend.

This mountain proved too large to climb despite Britton's second and Devon Woolley's flick after Dan Drew had been impeded.

Matthew Smith and Chris Wharton scored as Letchworth beat Shefford and Sandy by the odd goal in three.

Other scores: Letch II 2 (Dave Gentry, Chris McIntyre Brown) Royston 2, Letch III 2 (Steve Fleming, Tom McIntyre Brown) Bishop's Stortford IV 2, Letch IV 1 (Simon Wallduck) Shefford and Sandy II 1, Letch V 1 (Ranjit Rayat) Winchmore Hill and Enfield IV 3, Letch VI 2 (Johnno Gordon two) Winchmore Hill and Enfield V 3.

Stevenage came away with a point and a 2-2 draw from a trip to Broxbourne 2nds.

The first half opened shakily as Stevenage tried to find their feet. Broxbourne made the most of this, going in at half time 2-0 up.

But the second half saw Stevenage up the play, sending the left and right midfield wider to open up the field.

This seemed to work and when Scott Reid latched on to a ball in the area to slot home, Stevenage were fired up.

So fired up in fact that the defence pushed forward and it was Gary Brown, from sweeper, who scored the equaliser.

Reid could have sealed a Stevenage win but failed to score a second time.

Other scores: Stevenage II 6 Welwyn Garden City 2, Welwyn Garden City III 1 Stevenage III 3, Stevenage V 1 Harpenden IV 4, Hertford IV 2 Stevenage VI 3.

MBDA were soundly beaten 3-1 by West Herts 5ths. Paul Lawman was again successful in front of goal to put his side ahead after the break.

West Herts reacted by upping their play considerably, and crashed in three goals in the space of 15 minutes.

This sudden reversal took MBDA by surprise and West Herts went close to scoring more on several occasions.
