Blueharts thrashed West Herts 10-1 to secure third place in East Premier A with a game to spare.
In a one-sided game, Harts created opportunity after opportunity and when into the break 6-0 up thanks to goals from Colin Burnell, Jimmy Lewis, Simon Shorter (two) and Adam Wells (two).
The second half did not start with the same flowing hockey and for 15 minutes Harts made hard work of the easy conditions and the visitors even managed to score a scrappy goal from a free hit outside the circle.
This gave Harts the wake-up call they needed with goals soon flowing in once more.
Lewis rounded off a good performance with his second, with Larry Hamilton, Ashley Hammond and Gillan Ide all getting in on the action as well.
Blueharts travel to local rivals Bedford this Saturday for their final game of the season.

The seconds finished their league season with a narrow defeat at Chelmsford thirds.
Stuck on the M25 for three hours, Harts were soon 2-0 down.
A fightback started as Devon Woolley slotted home a penalty flick before a host of other opportunities went begging.
The second half saw Harts work hard to get the equaliser and the best chance saw Tim Price shave the post with a first-time shot after James Moore's through ball.
Letchworth were awarded their final game 3-0 versus Old Southendians and finished third in Division Two South.
The second team game against Blueharts thirds was postponed due to floodlight failure. Ben Abbott (hat-trick) and Mark Bozdogan (two) helped the thirds beat their Luton counterparts 5-3.
The fourths shared a goal-less draw at Harpenden thirds.
Stevenage went down 2-0 at home to Luton Town in a bruising final league encounter of the season.
Captain Danny Blackburn is now standing down after five years in charge of the first team.
A club spokesman said: "Danny has seen many successes and a few failures during his tenure.
"Stevenage Hockey Club would like to thank Danny for his perseverance and leadership."
Other scores: Rickmansworth 7 Stevenage II 1, Stevenage III 1 (Harp Mann) Bishop's Stortford V 4, Shefford and Sandy IV 0 Stevenage IV 5 (Kev Fisher, Khalid Mehmood, Laurie Brown, Dan Phoenix, Ian Brown).
MBDA's excellent season, which included notable victories over now promoted teams, was rounded off with a disheartening 2-1 home loss to Potters Bar.
The visitors created numerous chances in the first few minutes and eventually took the lead.
But from a short corner, MBDA equalised through Austin Mahoney.
The second half saw the visitors achieve the vital next goal. Potters Bar briefly thought they had scored a third but this was disallowed for the use of feet, not a stick, to score.
