The under-13 girls football team from The John Henry Newman School in Stevenage are in the last 32 in the country. They beat Beaumont 3-1 in the county cup final which means that they will now represent Hertfordshire in the national competition. PE teach
The under-13 girls' football team from The John Henry Newman School in Stevenage are in the last 32 in the country.
They beat Beaumont 3-1 in the county cup final which means that they will now represent Hertfordshire in the national competition.
PE teacher and team coach James French said:?"This is an absolutely superb achievement considering that some of these girls had barely kicked a ball before in their lives.
"Their sheer hard work and dedication in training has really paid off and they got what they deserved."
Their performance in the final was their best so far. Goals from Elanor Pisapia, Vanessa Wilson and Jasmine Clive ensured a convincing 3-1 win.
