Local schoolchildren in Stevenage joined tens of thousands of state school pupils around the country for the first ever Chance to Shine National Cricket Day.
Girls from the Heathcote and Nobel schools were treated to a masterclass cricket coaching session from Charlotte Edwards, the captain of the England Ladies cricket team, together with coaches from Knebworth Park and Stevenage cricket clubs.
The event, organised by Knebworth Park Cricket Club and the Stevenage School Sports Partnership, took place at Nobel School on Tuesday afternoon.
Knebworth Park is in the second year of an ECB sponsored programme to bring girls' cricket into schools in the Stevenage and Letchworth area.
