A TEENAGE martial arts expert from Biggleswade has passed one of his biggest tests to date with flying colours.

Gareth Hains fought at the second prestigious 'fight night' in Kidderminster against the world under-16 kickboxing champion Romer Sales in a special challenge match.

In a fourth and final round, his better fitness shone through and he scored a heavy body punch to win the fight.

At the end of the evening, he was also called up to receive the fighter of the night award.

Gareth goes to Sandy Upper School and Community Sports College. He is sponsored by Mid Beds District Council, Fryday's Fish and Chip Shop and the Viceroy of India, Biggleswade.
