DERBY honours went to Letchworth Ladies as they earned a comfortable 3-0 away victory at Stevenage Ladies in the East League Division One.

Despite missing some key players, Letchworth settled the quicker of the two sides and were rewarded after just seven minutes when Olivia Hewitt swept in from the right after a period of sustained pressure.

Charlie Gibson increased the visitors' lead just five minutes later after a fine run and shot which gave the Stevenage keeper no chance.

With Letchworth dominating midfield and creating numerous chances, particularly through Sarah Parkhouse, further goals looked inevitable.

However, failure to finish clinically enabled Stevenage to keep the score down at half time.

In the second half, Stevenage regrouped and had slightly the better of the play for much of the half, with the Letchworth keeper Rachel Williams forced into smart action on three occasions.

As the half wore on, however, Letchworth regained their composure and increased their lead on the hour when Cindy Dixon slotted home from a penalty corner.

Further chances to add to their goal tally went begging in the closing minutes.

Letchworth were happy to take the points which sees them move up to third place in the division.
