Letchworth GC suffered a 132-run defeat against North Mymms in their latest SHCL Premier outing.

A couple of dropped catches prevented Letchworth from making early inroads to the Mymms batting line up as the opening pair added 139.

Maxford Pipe finally broke the partnership when he had Hamza Ahmed caught by Richard Barclay for 59 and he added two more wickets to leave Mymms on 168-3 with 15 overs remaining.

However, an aggressive innings from former Somerset batsman Steve Snell punished Letchworth and his 66 from 51 balls took Mymms to a total of 284-4.

In reply Letchworth started positively as Will Aitkenhead and Tom Simmons (41) added 47 but when Aitkenhead and Pete New fell in consecutive balls the task looked tough.

Harry Aitkenhead hit two sixes in his 29 but his side were all out for just 152.

The 2nds saw Redbourn rack up a mammoth 351-5. In reply Dave Albon scored 112* but they closed on 260-5.
