Stotfold entertained Hoddesdon Town on a bog of a pitch on Saturday, and the visitors squelched their way to a 5-1 victory.
In a cagey start both sides cancelled each other out before a mazy run from Drew Cardines saw him drag a shot wide of the Hoddesdon goal on 15 minutes.
A minute later a slide rule pass up the right from Jaiden Irish found Louis Taylor, and he ran in on goal before placing his shot under the keeper to open the scoring.
Hoddesdon were soon back level when a free-kick from the edge of the Stotfold box was fired into the top corner.
A mix-up in the Stotfold defence let in Hoddesdon for goal number two, and in added time in the first period the visitors sprayed the ball out wide and when the cross was whipped in Mark Summers made it 3-1.
Hoddesdon took just 10 minutes in the second half to add a fourth, and Stotfold then changed to a 3-4-3 formation with the introduction of both Harry Orr and Ross Maddox.
It almost produced a result as Cardines was brought down in the box following an Eagles attack, but Irish’s effort from the spot was saved.
To add insult to injury, Hoddesdon then scored again to make the final score 5-1.
