ARLESEY Town's recent run of good form continued on Tuesday night when they beat Waltham Abbey 2-1 at home.

Arlesey went in front after 12 minutes when a great shot on the run by Paul Bloss was frantically cleared by the Abbey defence.

Kaan Femhi picked up the ball on the right and he raced in to drill it into the far corner of the net.

Michael McKenzie then went close with a blistering shot but put Arlesey in front on 24 minutes sprinting past two defenders to fire the ball in at the far post.

In the second half, Abbey went searching for goals and were rewarded in the 60th minute when Mark Sontag fired in an unstoppable shot from 25 yards to reduce the arrears.

But Arlesey managed to hold on to secure the full quota of points.

Stotfold secured their first win for manager Mark Teeling beating Buckingham at home 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Adam Furness gave Stotfold the lead on 30 minutes but they had to wait until the 60th minute before adding a second through a Furness penalty.

Buckingham snatched their goal five minutes from time.

Langford moved into the next round of the South Midlands Premier Cup with a 2-1 win at Colney Heath.

Both goals came late in the game from Robert Groves and Lee Pateman.
