BORO boss Mark Stimson was full of praise for the backing his side received as they took the points against Halifax.

Stimson said: "It was a good reward for the supporters to win again at home.

"Both teams are not where they want to be but they both tried to play football.

"Halifax caused us problems in the first half.

"We had a chat at half time after what the game meant to us.

"It was good for Steve and George to score and it's now seven goals for George this season."

Stimson added: "Overall it was a close game. We might claim the more clear-cut chances but both sides had opportunities and they had their one at the end."

His Halifax counterpart Chris Wilder bemoaned another narrow away defeat.

He said: "Our two centre-halves were very poor and they were to blame for both goals.

"For an away side, we did well and controlled the game.

"Our chance at the end which we missed possibly sums it up at the moment.
