Stevenage have made their first signing of the summer transfer window, snapping up striker Jason Cowley from non-league side Bromsgrove Sporting FC.

The 23-year-old moves to the Lamex from the Southern League Division One Central side after scoring an impressive 102 goals in 127 appearances and helping them secure three promotions in as many seasons.

Speaking to the Boro's official website after putting pen to paper, he said: "This is the challenge I have wanted for a long time so I am ready to get my head down and do what I am here to do.

"I am hungry, aggressive and love scoring goals. I can't wait to grasp this opportunity with both hands."

Cowley hit national media headlines in March after a video of his goal in a 2-1 win Corby went viral, with the striker flicking the ball over two defenders before volleying past the 'keeper.
