Stevenage hosted Port Vale in League Two on Tuesday evening at the Lamex. Read on for Owen Rodbard’s match report.
Stevenage were left frustrated for the second time in four days at the Lamex by a resilient Port Vale side who will be happy to leave with a point.
Stevenage made the early running, Jamal Campbell-Ryce being the early creative spark putting through Luther Wildin, but the full back failed to hit the target with a shot which sailed past Vale’s keeper Scott Brown right hand post.
Boro continued the early pressure with another chance, a poor back pass was intercepted by Alex Revell before he took it past the onrushing keeper, but the angle proved too much for him and he smashed it against the post.
A lack of quality in the final ball meant that both teams went into the break goalless.
The second half continued in the same vein, a lack of quality in the final third hindered both sides from gaining the lead as a goal to break the deadlock eluded both sides as the match ended in Boro’s second 0-0 draw of this season.
