Stevenage FC appoint new boss

Stevenage have appointed their new boss - and it was the one we predicted at CometSport - Dino Maamria.
Stevenage FC have appointed Dino to the post of first team manager after the sacking of previous boss Darren Sarll.
The club received permission from Nuneaton Town to talk to him and terms were agreed, leading to 46-year-old Maamria’s appointment on Tuesday morning.
Maamria, who joined Nuneaton in October, oversaw their progression from the bottom two in the Vanarama National League North to 13th place, thanks to a nine game unbeaten run which saw Maamria pick up the manager of the month award for February.
The excellent form has seen the popular Maamria earn a move back into the Football League at Stevenage, a club he knows well having played and coached for as well as being assistant manager there earlier in his career.
Chairman Phil Wallace said: “Dino is well known to us, having worked here as a Player, Coach and Assistant Manager over the years.
“I have always loved his passion for the club, our fans and for winning football matches. The Nuneaton Chairman was outstanding in the way he handled our interest but he was desperately sad to see Dino leave after the difference he had made to their results.
“We had a lot of applications for the job yesterday but we needed to bring Dino back home and we wanted him in charge for the home game against Colchester on Saturday. I hope our fans will turn out in force to welcome him back.”
