Stevenage boss Dino Maamria has been speaking after his side’s 1-0 victory over Morecambe at the Lamex on Saturday.

A first half goal by Michael Timlin shortly before half-time sealed the victory for Boro.

The win means the Broadhall Way side now have seven points from nine in three league games this season and sit joint top on with only goal difference separating them from leaders Exeter and second placed Lincoln.

Speaking after the match Maamria said: “It was three very valauble points. I knew it was going to be a tough game.

“People expected us just to turn up and win but it’s League Two and Morecambe are fighting for their lives.

“They didn’t have the best start to the season and I knew they’d be determined.

“We were cruising for much of the day – the messy bit was between 45 and 60 minutes but after that we were comfortable.”
