Stevenage hosted Mansfield Town at the Lamex on Tuesday. Read LAYTH YOUSIF's player ratings.

Stevenage

Tom King: 7 – A class act and a top guy. Just a shame he won’t be at the Lamex next season. Boro’s loss is Millwall’s gain.

Joe Martin: 7 – Worked hard and put in a shift, as befits a player with his DNA and pedigree.

Jack King: 7 – A colossus whose ‘thou shalt not pass’ attitude is exactly what is required in League Two against teams such as Mansfield, even if he and his defensive partners will be disappointed at the goal they conceded.

Luke Wilkinson: 7 – Solid as always this giant of a defender is a reliable team man who certainly deserves his place in the side.

Chris Whelpdale 6.5 – A shy man off the pitch after declining to talk to the press following his excellent winner at Newport, this hard working midfielder does his talking on the pitch, even if he wasn’t as influential as he would have liked

Ben Sheaf: 7 – Oozes class. Has become more of a rounded player since joining Stevenage on loan from Arsenal. Has gained strength and physicality which allied with his natural ability will make him a real prospect.

Alex Revell: 7 – Vastly underrated striker who is another positive influence on the team and leads the line well. No-one better at this level than playing with his back to goal. Excellent hold up play and is an expert at winning crucial flick-ons.

Luke Amos: 7 – Another Premier League loanee who has improved during his time at the Lamex - while also improving the side with his flair, commitment and those quick feet of his. Not his best game but not through want of trying.

Danny Newton: 8 – Spectacular goal from the hardest working striker in League Two which had the fans deservedly singing his name on the East Terrace. Surely a shoo-in for the club’s player of the year

Matt Godden: 7 – Good to see this popular striker return to the starting line up in place of Ben Kennedy who picked up a dead thigh. Deserved his ovation after being replaced by John Goddard late on.

Ronnie Henry: 7 – Mr Consistency as ever. A model pro and one whose legacy will last at this club for as long as they play football in this town.

Substitutions:

Dale Gorman (6.5) on for Ben Sheaf

Tom Conlon (6) on for Chris Whelpdale

John Goddard: (N/A) On for Godden late on
