Stevenage boss Darren Sarll is looking to strength his squad in the January transfer window.

Boro signed goalkeeper Tom King on loan from Millwall until the end of the season, despite Sarll telling CometSport the following, just an hour before the move was announced.

“There’s nothing at the moment,” he said.

“Nothing happens until the end of the window.

“It’s always the case that a lot happens late and if things appear and pop up then we have to be very reactive to make big decisions.”

The 34-year-old wants to add more depth to his squad in the coming weeks as Boro look to kick on and climb the Sky Bet League Two table in the second half of the season.

Sarll told CometSport: “It’s a really crucial month in terms of the squad because we haven’t got any depth.

“We need to add depth and experience and a little change in the balance of the squad could pay massive dividends in the course of the next few months.

“There’s still 60 plus points to play for yet and we need the calibre of player to get as many of those points as possible.

“My teams normally kick on in the second half of the season and the players that come in need to give us the thrust and dynamic in the dressing room.

“Hopefully it’ll give that bump we need in terms of points we can earn.

“If we can double the points from where we are now we’ll be on 66 points and that won’t be too far off last year.”
