Arlesey Town were playing at Ilford last night (Wednesday) for their future in the FA Cup.

The two sides drew 2-2 in Saturday's initial tie after the Blues surrendered a two-goal lead late on.

After an even start, Arlesey picked up the pace and a free-kick on 27 minutes taken by Craig Rydeheard was deflected across the area and fell into the path of Lee Tekell to drill home.

Martin Williams headed just over the bar moments later.

Their second goal came on 40 minutes when sub James Dillnutt's ball was flicked on and Kaan Fehmi swept in to slot the ball home.

Although holding a two-goal lead, Arlesey now had to play into a vicious wind that had picked up pace during the half-time interval.

They found it hard going against the wind and difficult to make anything happen in front of goal.

Williams had a header over the bar from a looping cross with just 20 minutes remaining in a rare moment of threat.

Ilford had not been that much of a threat and goalmouth action was in short supply at both ends.

It looked comfortable for the Blues but this was all to change.

Poor defending let Ilford in for their first goal on 85 minutes.

Jack Rashid could not hold a vicious shot from the edge of the box and Rob McHale sped in to slam the ball home.

The home defence was looking decidedly shaky in the closing moments and man of the match James Gray deflected a shot behind for a corner as Ilford sensed an opportunity to force a replay.

Following a lengthy injury-time period, and with possibly the last kick of the game, Ilford equalised when Daniel Clarke capitalised on Arlesey's inability to clear to stab the ball home.

Blues: Rashid, Fehmi, Bloss, Stanley, Dogbe (Dillnutt), George, Rydeheard, Gray, Williams, Foster (McKenzie), Tekell.

* Stotfold embarrassingly crashed out of the FA Cup in a replay on Tuesday night.

They were beaten 4-0 at Roker Park by Broxbourne Borough V&E.

Two goals in the first half from Danny Ward and two in the second from Emiel Aitken ended hopes of a good cup run this season.

Broxbourne looked a sharper side than the one Stotfold played on Saturday and fully deserved their place in the next round against Haverhill.

Rokermen: Blower, Daley, Alcide, Beckett (Philbin 46), Geraghty, Kiddie (Reynolds 46), Nichol, Hayer (Blows 72), Holmes, Thorne, Downham.

The sides were deadlocked at 1-1 in Saturday's first meeting.

Stotfold played with the wind behind them in the opening half.

There were precious few chances in the early stages although Craig Reynolds' cross-shot nearly crept in.

Ian Thorne's shot came off the bottom of the upright and ran along the line just after half an hour.

Broxbourne pressed before the break but it was Stotfold who went ahead in added time.

A needless free-kick was conceded just outside the box and Reynolds curled the ball past the wall and into the top left-hand corner.

Broxbourne levelled eight minutes into the new half following a Stotfold throw near the right corner.

Pressure created panic and Tan Tenzel ran in to stab the ball under Nigel Blower.

Both sides had chances to win it, Blower superbly saving an effort from Gazmend Dauti and Reynolds denied by the keeper's legs.

Shaun Turner created the last opportunity of the match, crossing for a stretching Ryan Nichol to shoot over.

Rokermen: Blower, Alcide, Purton, Geraghty, Beckett, Nichol, Turner, Daley (Hayer 76), Holmes, Thorne, Reynolds.
